Vernon Eugene Rice

Vernon Eugene Rice Jr., 59, of Houston, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, in UPMC - Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born May 20, 1954, in Washington, the son of the late Vernon E. Rice Sr. and Nyla Taylor Woodburn of Washington. He was a graduate of Trinity High School and delivered and installed Medical Equipment. Vernon enjoyed traveling, sci-fi and history. On November 1, 1974, he married Janice Dennick, who died August 24, 2012. Surviving are a son William E. (Robert) Rice of Pittsburgh; two daughters, Jennifer (Barry) Bolte of Ocala, FL, and Sonya McClelland of Houston; three sisters, Diane Toland of Claysville, Kris (Donald) Rice of Claysville, and Paula (James) Taggart of Washington; four grandchildren, Abel and Mateo Gomez, Kaylie McClelland, and Nyla Lynn Grabiak. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 27th at 6:00 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington.
