Susan Lee Bova

Susan Lee Livingood Bova, 47, of Washington, died on Saturday, March 15, 2014, in the Washington Hospital, following a lengthy battle with cancer.  She was born on June 27, 1966, in Washington, a daughter of Romaine (Charlie) Wright, of East Finley, formerly of Washington, and the late Dick Livingood.  Mrs. Bova had attended McGuffey High School, and received a G.E.D. In 2007, she graduated from the Clayton College of Natural Health, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Health, receiving highest honors, and in 2009, she graduated from the Clayton College of Natural Health, with a Master of Arts Degree in Holistic Wellness, receiving highest honors.  Susan became a Master Medical Massage Therapist in 2004, received certification as a Sport Yoga Instructor in 2009, and was certified with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork NCTMB, in 2011  In 1987, she worked as a postal worker for the United States Postal Service, in 2004, at Penn Commercial, as an instructor, in 2007, at Stanford Brown, as an instructor, and in 2009, she worked at the Pittsburgh Technical Institute, until her retirement in 2013.  A quick-witted person, who loved life, and being healthy, she fought this terrible disease of cancer with everything she had.  She also loved music, and enjoyed singing.  A social member of VFW, Post 927, she loved going to the VFW every Friday, to play Texas Hold ‘Em with all her friends, especially when she won 1st or 2nd place. As she liked to put in her journal, “Holla!”  Susan was a loving and generous wife, mother, and “Yaya” (Grandma).  Mrs. Bova will be sadly missed by her husband, soulmate, and best friend, Jesse Bova, whom she married on July 3, 2000.  Also surviving are two daughters, Kayla Livingood, and Cassandra Hirosky, both of Washington, and a step-daughter, Leandra Bova, of Washington; three brothers, Mark (Laura) Livingood, of Washington, Rick (Becky) Livingood, of Claysville, and Dane (Janel) Livingood, of Prosperity; two step-brothers, Charlie Wright, Jr., of Washington, and Dan (Penny) Wright, of Claysville; two sisters, Donna McCartney and Beth Noel, both of Washington; three step-sisters, Sherry (Joe) Cardamone, of Washington; Debbie (John) Keenan, of Claysville; and Tammy (Arlen) Bethel, of St. Clairsville, OH; three grandchildren, Rigo, Jazzlyn and Rozlynn, and many nieces and nephews.  She will also be sadly missed by her father-in-law, Thomas A. Bova, Jr., mother-in-law, Jean O. Bova, brother-in-law, Dan Bova, and sister-in-law, Rose Bova.  Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 p.m., the time of services, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, with Pastor Rick Livingood officiating.  Memorial contributions may be mad to the American Cancer Society, 331 South Main St., Washington, PA 15301.
