Elana M. Segen, 55 of Washington passed away peacefully, Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Washington Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born December 29, 1958 in Washington, the daughter of the late John Steratore and Elena LaBella Steratore.
She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1976. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church.
She was an optician at the Eye Gallery of McMurray for 5 years and a volunteer of the Washington Chapter of the American Cancer Society.
On January 6, 1978 she married William G. Segen who survives.
Also surviving are a son, David (Jessica) Segen of Akron, OH; a daughter Jessica (Eric) Hinkler of China; three sisters, Gena (Edward) Roman of Washington, Eva (Louis) Cipriani of Uniontown, Johna (Douglas) Storck of Smyrna, DE; three grandchildren, Grady and Charlotte Hinkler and Harper Segen; nieces and nephews, Elissa Spangler, Christopher Roman, Nicole Cipriani, Jonathan and Matthew Storck.; great nephews, Isaac and Jesse Spangler.
Friends will be received Tuesday, April 8th from 6 to 8 and Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8, at William G. Neal Funeral Home, 925 Allison Ave, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Thursday, April 10th at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
