John “Jack” Bout, 89 of Washington, formerly of Cecil, died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Presbyterian Senior Care.
He was born February 5, 1925 in Cecil, the son of the late Victor Bout and Anna Belle Stewart Bout.
Mr. Bout was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II, where he received American Theater, Asiatic Pacific Theater with 2 bronze stars, Philippine Liberation with 2 bronze stars, Good Conduct and Victory Medals and a Bronze Arrowhead.
John was a supervisor at Tri-State Engineering Inc. for over 30 years.
He was a member of Grove United Presbyterian Church in West Middletown.
John enjoyed spending time outdoors in the sun and loved spending time with family.
On June 28, 1957, he married Betty Jean Miller, who died April 1, 2010.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol (Rich) Celani of Washington, Jacqueline Dillon of Maryland; a sister, Carmel Molinar of Bethel Park; 10 grandchildren, Trisha Celani, Leah Celani, Alec Celani, David Bout Jr., John Bout, Shnesha Bout, Alethia Bout, Jaimie Stackhouse, Jeremy Dillon, Jessica Dillon; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, David Bout; two brothers, Raymond Jacobs, Victor Bout; a sister, May Rubis; a great granddaughter; a niece, Linda Miller.
Friends will be received Wednesday, April 30th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Jack Emerick officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Gardens. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
