Ethel Mae Chappo, 86, of Kane, died Monday, April 28, 2014.
She was born August 8, 1927, in Carnegie, a daughter of Trevor George Davis and Gertrude Blanche Stevens.
Mrs. Chappo worked in the laundry service at the Washington Hospital for 18 years. She loved her dogs and enjoyed ceramics, word search books, and playing cards. She looked forward to shopping and eating meals out with her family.
Mrs. Chappo was a member of First United Methodist Church in Kane and a former member of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Washington, PA.
Deceased is her first husband, Roy Winters.
On November 10, 1971, she married Louis Chappo, who died May 18, 1972.
Surviving are a son, Gary Lee Winters of Bradenton, Florida; two daughters, Shelley Mae Winters of Canonsburg and Shyrl Ann LaVelle (William) of Kane; nine grandchildren, Tracey Mourer (Chris), Jessica Marriott (Pete), Philip LaVelle, Sara LaVelle, Chantal LaVelle, D’Ja LaVelle, Karena Barron, Craig Winters and Cortney Shimek; two great grandchildren, A’Miyah Washington and Robert Barron; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Glenn Davis and Alfred Davis; five sisters, Peg Anderson, Marvene Davis, Juanita Ward, Idella Brown, and Audrey Thompson.
A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, May 17th from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m., with Rev. William Lavelle officiating.
Memorial donations are suggested to a hospice of the donor’s choice.
