Nellie Gertrude Ashmore

Nellie Gertrude Ashmore, 87, of Washington, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, in Washington County Health Center. She was born November 26, 1926, in Washington, a daughter of Edward and Viola Miller. Mrs. Ashmore was a homemaker who enjoyed farming, gardening and canning. She was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church. On December 20, 1946, she married Kenneth Ashmore, who died December 21, 1999. Surviving are a son, Bruce (Carol) Ashmore; a daughter, Wendy Ashmore; a brother, Cecil Miller, all of Washington; one grandchild, Mike (Rachelle) Bonoto; and two great-grandchildren, Evan and Jake Bonoto. Deceased are a son, James Ashmore; brothers, George, Carl, Herb, Bud and Ed; and sisters, Anna Mary, Mabel and Lucille. Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 10th. Burial will follow in North Buffalo Cemetery.
