Dorothy Jean Gildow, 92 of Washington, died Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Humbert Lane.
She was born August 10, 1921 in Ambridge the daughter of Martin L. Cook, Sr. and Blanche E. Seaman Cook.
Mrs. Gildow was a homemaker and the secretary of the Washington County Fair Board for over 30 years and a 4-H leader.
She was a member of Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church, where she was a very active member.
On January 12, 1946 she married Warren H. Gildow who died April 30, 2008.
Surviving are a son, Gary L. (Patti) Gildow of Willow Springs, NC; a daughter, Betty J. English of Marion, OH; a brother Gilbert D. Cook of Wilmington, OH; five grandchildren, Erik English, Matthew English, Amber Oller, Erica Gilmour and Jessica Nordberg; nine great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Martin L. Cook Jr.; a sister, Helen Byerly.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 24 at 11:00 a.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington with Pastor Larry Deemer officiating. Burial is private.
