Ed McAdams, 61 of Washington, died Sunday, June 1, 2014 at UPMC Montifiore, following a lengthy illness. He was born November 13, 1952 in Washington, the son of the late John S. McAdams and Florence Black McAdams. He was a graduate of Trinity High School and a local business owner for 30 years, doing painting and remodeling and was adored by many clients. He saw the beauty of all God’s creatures and loved nature and being outdoors. He was an avid naturalist and bird watcher. He loved hiking and bike riding, traveling and camping. His favorite place for birding was Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. He loved the ocean, above all Hawaii. Ed was a food connoisseur and traveled the world by eating and loved to taste all the world had to offer. He enjoyed old movies and regularly attended movie conventions. He loved to read, loved music and spending time writing songs and playing his guitar. He strongly supported organ donation and encouraged others to consider donation. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, he was devoted to them. Ed lived life to the fullest and asked us all to do the same. On April 7, 1969 he married his childhood sweetheart, Ellice Daniels, who survives. They were married for 45 years and were a team that brought happiness to each other. Also surviving are a son, Erik J. McAdams of Washington; a daughter, Tina Ray (George Robertston) McAdams of Clarksville; a brother, John L. (Violet) McAdams of Washington; a sister, Darlene (Bob) Miller of Washington; four grandchildren, Tyler, Erika, Emily and Gracie; a great grandchild, Colton; eleven nieces and nephews. A memorial visitation will be held, Friday, June 6, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Burial is private. Memorial contributions can be made to C.O.R.E., 204 Sigma Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238.
