Helen Marie Chmiel Kopcha, 92 of Washington, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014 in her home.
She was born May 22, 1922 in East Chicago, IN, the daughter of Symon Chmiel and Pauline Burczak Chmiel.
Helen was a graduate of Trinity High School and owner of Frankies Amusement Co. and East Coast Shows.
She was a member of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church and the Ladies Adoration Society. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed watching Duke Basketball and flower gardening.
On June 27, 1948, she married Frank Kopcha who died August 20, 2010.
Surviving are a son, Dennis (Linda) Kopcha of Canonsburg; a daughter, Diane (Mark) Katlic of Baltimore, MD; three grandchildren, Scott Kopcha, Erica Kopcha and Katherine Katlic.
Deceased are three brothers, George, Frank and Benjamin Chmiel; a sister, Sophie Junko; a grandson, Adam Katlic.
Friends will be received Friday, June 6, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where a blessing service will be held Friday, June 6, 2014 at 4 p.m. with Father Mark Swoger officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
