Violet Leona Rankin

Violet Leona Rankin, 84, of Washington, died June 4, 2014, in the Washington Hospital. She was born April 8, 1930, in Washington, a daughter of William M. Brown and Frances Zulkos Brown. Mrs. Rankin worked as a packer in a glass factory. She attended Living Waters Church. On October 10, 1982, she married Wayne Richard Rankin, who died April 26, 2006. Surviving are two sons, George (Barbara) Pierson of Inverness, Florida, and Edward Pierson of Washington; two daughters, Sandra Pierson and Cheryl (Kevin) Shippmann, both of Washington; and a grandson, Matthew Kirby. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where a service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 9th. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
