Carol Jean Ruetschi, 74, of Taylorstown, died on Saturday, June 7, 2014, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care.
She was born on July 7, 1939, in Washington, a daughter of the late Walter R., and Louise J. Alexander Grose.
Mrs. Ruetschi had worked as a police dispatcher, in Beaver and Sewickley, then as a teacher’s aide at Intermediate Unit 1, in Washington, and finally as a homemaker.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Sweet Adelines and Crime Solvers.
On July 10, 1993, she married David Ruetschi, who survives.
Also surviving are 2 sons, James I. McBride, of Washington, and Timothy I. (Valerie) McBride, of Rochester; 3 stepdaughters, Becky (Robert) DePetro, of Independence; Missy Miller, of Cuddy, and Anna Marie Ollum, of Carnegie; 2 brothers, Reggie (Roma) Grose, of Washington, and David Grose, of Cincinnati, OH; a sister, Ruth (Randy) Shook, of Claysville, 8 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Kay Grose, and a previous daughter-in-law, Nancy (Bob Nemchik) McBride.
Deceased are a daughter, Monica Leigh McBride Knopp, and a brother, Fred Grose.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 11, 2014.
Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
