Eva Dale White

December 18, 1925 — June 14, 2014

Eva Dale White, 88, of Washington, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, in Donnell House. She was born December 18, 1925, in Mt. Pleasant Township, a daughter of Wilbert and Rhudell Sweitzer Lawrence. Mrs. White was a 1943 graduate of Trinity High School and attended Penn Commercial. A homemaker, she had worked at Washington Feed Store, Coke Bottling and Washington County Blind Association. Mrs. White was an excellent cook and baker; chocolate chip cookies were her specialty. She enjoyed sending cards and letters to friends and family. Mrs. White was a faithful member of Washington Alliance Church, where she was involved with child evangelism, the cradle roll and Alliance Women. She was a beloved mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her. On August 27, 1946, she married William James White, who died February 19, 2014. Surviving are a son, James L. White (Dr. Carol White) of Fredericktown; three daughters, Nancy White Carlstrom (David) of Seattle, Washington, Linda White Stormes of Brooklyn, New York, and Carol White Brown (Jeffrey) of Honeoye Falls, New York; eight grandchildren, Jesse and Joshua Carlstrom, Rebecca Pietrofesa (Ralph), Nathan White, Gregory Stormes, Allyson, Madelyn and Wyatt Brown. Deceased are her siblings, Jane Farr, Lois Porter, Willett Lawrence, Stuart Lawrence, and Marjorie Mikuta. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 18th, with Rev James Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Donnell House, Hospice Care of Washington Health System, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, or to Washington Alliance Church, 246 Sanitarium Road, Washington, PA 15301.
