Kathy Howard-Svitek, 56, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, due to a lengthy illness.
She was born December 10, 1957, in Washington, a daughter of James W. Howard Sr. and Margaret L. Naylor Howard of Washington.
Kathy was a 1975 graduate of Trinity High School and worked for the March of Dimes in fundraising.
She was the founder of the local Ride America program, taking it from its infancy to a very successful event.
Kathy enjoyed shopping, gardening, and, most especially, her grandchildren.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Richard Svitek; two sons, Michael Jon Stedman (Kristen) and Marc Justin Stedman, both of Washington; a brother, Scott Howard of Taylorstown; a sister, Tina D’Allesandro (Robert) of Amity; three grandchildren, Anthony, Hanna and Jacob Stedman; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
