Ruth Charlene Barney Tustin, 94, of Canonsburg, formerly of Washington and Hickory, died Monday, July 7, 2014, in Townview Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born March 24, 1920, in Eighty Four, a daughter of David W. Barney and Mary Floyde Barney.
Mrs. Tustin attended East Washington High School.
For 13 years, she worked at Washington Hospital in central supply. She volunteered at the lunch counter at Washington County Health Center as well as for Meals on Wheels through the Houston Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Tustin was a member of Chartiers Crossroads Presbyterian Church and its Young at Heart group.
On September 20, 1940, she married Carl Tustin, who died April 13, 1999.
Surviving are three sons, William (Sandra) Tustin and Richard (Nancy) Tustin, both of Hickory, and Ronald (Susan) Tustin of Scottsdale, Arizona; a brother, David Barney of Bentleyville; a sister, Dorothy (Glenn) Barr of Eighty Four; five grandchildren, Brian Tustin of Colorado, Michael Tustin of Colorado, Richard Tustin of Hickory, William Tustin of Georgia and Michele Milligan of Washington; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Emma Pauline Barney and Eleanor Eckles; and five brothers, George W., Randall C., Wilfred M., Ernest and Norman Barney.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 10th. Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
