Linda D. Byrd, 72, of Washington, died on Sunday, July 6, 2014, in UPMC, Presbyterian Hospital, Oakland.
She was born on July 29, 1941, in Washington, a daughter of the late Emerson H. and Iva Barney Miller.
A 1960 graduate of Trinity High School, she was a member of Friendship Community Church.
Mrs. Byrd was a beautician and a cosmetology instructor.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and bowling.
On March 18, 1966, she married Homer D. Byrd, who died on February 11, 2008.
Surviving are a son, Robert E. Byrd, of Washington, a sister, Karen Sue (David A.) Salamone, of Washington, two grandchildren, Robert James Byrd and Ryan Vaughn Byrd, and nine nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a brother, Vaughn Emerson “Sonny” Miller, and a sister, Vivian Lee Miller, who died as an infant.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 924 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014, with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating.
Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
