Frances Anna Lis, 91, of Washington, died July 29, 2014, in Humbert Lane Nursing Home.
She was born August 9, 1922, in Finleyville, a daughter of Frank and Anna Artac Martik.
Mrs. Lis graduated from Monongahela High School and worked in the housekeeping department at the Washington Hospital for 15 years.
She was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church.
Mrs. Lis enjoyed spending time with her family and flower gardening.
In 1945, she married Joseph Lis, who died in 1967.
Surviving are a son, Joseph Albert Lis of Washington; a daughter, Carole Mancini (Mario) of Hampton Township, North Hills; a brother, Louis Martik of Gastonville; a sister, Helen Shuder of Connellsville; three grandchildren, Rocky, Julie and Zachary; and a great-grandchild, Samson.
Deceased are brothers, Albert, who was killed in action during World War II, Frank, Thomas, and William; and a sister, Mary Skerl.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 2nd, in St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Thomas O’Neil as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
