Jack Drue White, 95 of Washington, died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the Washington County Health Center.
He was born October 8, 1918 in Beaumont, TX, the son of the late Orley White and Margaret Mitchell White.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in WWII, on the S.S. Dannedike and the S.S. Wesleyan, and received the Victory Medal, American, European and Asiatic Medals.
He was employed at Brockway Glass.
He was a member of Fairhill Manor Church and the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
On July 29, 1940, he married Mary Jane Piacenzia, who died June 17, 2004.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth W. (Mary Lou) White Sr. and Donald R. (Denise) White both of Washington; a brother, Donald White; two sisters, Evelyn Henney, Ellen Jane Gillespie; two grandchildren, Kenneth W. (Melanie) White Jr., and Amanda (Dan) Mankey; four great grandchildren, Calvin “CJ” White, Hunter White, Wyatt and Waylon Mankey.
Deceased in addition to his wife, are a brother, Glenn White and two sisters, Nell Rose Terry, Mary Ann Paul.
Friends will be received Wednesday, August 6th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2014 with Pastor Linda Mankey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
