Shirley K. Barlow, 81 of Washington, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at home.
She was born August 31, 1932, in Washington the daughter of the late William Klinzing and Mona Mahanna Klinzing.
She graduated from Washington High School in 1950.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and of member of the Washington County Flyers Club and was one of earliest female pilots in Washington County.
Shirley graduated Washington & Jefferson College, one of the first women to graduate.
She was employed at Dunbar & Wallace Lumber Co., Albert’s Packing and the Washington County Airport. She also owned Barlow Ltd., a pottery and ceramics business.
On November 22, 1950 she married Richard Barlow Jr. who died September 24, 2004.
Surviving are a son, Richard W. (Bonnie) Barlow of Washington, two daughters, Cindy (Tom) Santelli and Joy Daviduk both of Washington; a brother, William Klinzing of Winston-Salem, NC; a sister Phyllis Brooks of Washington; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received Saturday, August 9th from noon to 2:30 p.m. the time of service at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave., Washington. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
