John William Mull, 91 of Washington, died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the Donnell House.
He was born February 14, 1923 in Washington the son of the late George Martin Mull and Mary Pierce Mull.
John served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he received Army of Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal.
He was a machine operator at Forbes Steel for 38 years.
He was a 80 year member of Chartiers Cross Roads Church, where he spent many years working at the church food booth at the fair.
John was also a member of the Free & Accepted Masons Washington Lodge #164 for 63 years, a former member of the Taylorstown American Legion Post, the RCR and the Horseshoe Courts in FL, Washington County Horseshoe Club.
He loved gardening, fishing, horseshoes, western movies, home, family and friends.
On July 27, 1943 he married Betty Cross who survives. They where married for 71 years.
Also surviving are two sons, John W. Mull Jr. of Washington, David Mull of Los Angeles, CA; two daughters, Patricia Junko of Venice, FL, Rebecca (Stewart) Sander of Jefferson Hill, PA; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great children; several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, James and Carl Mull; two sisters Ruth Cooper, Betty Sampson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 26th from 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Wednesday, August 27th at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Bunting officiating. Masonic Services will be held a 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26th. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post #175.
