Doris Ann Hoover, of Washington, Pennsylvania passed away September 5th, 2014 at the Washington Hospital surrounded by her family following a lengthy illness. Doris was born January 20th, 1958 in Washington, Pennsylvania to the late Raymond R. Hoover and Charlotte V. Schimansky. She is survived by her mother Charlotte V. Schimansky of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; her children Dayne J.C. Hoover and Wayann R.A Hoover and her companion Donny Schompert both of Washington, Pennsylvania; three granddaughters Jayella Gibson , Madalee Schompert, Kyriana Hoover; step-granddaughter Marlee Schompert; one brother Raymond R. Hoover (husband of Donna) of Portland, Oregon and one sister Catherine J. Goetz (wife of Kenneth) of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her. She was preceded in death by her father, the late Raymond R. Hoover and a grandson Antonio Gibson. Doris was a 1975 graduate of Avella Senior High School and attended college briefly in Houston. She was most recently employed by Cellone’s Bakery. Doris’ deepest desire was to travel. She lived in both Portland, Oregon and Houston, Texas. She loved to crochet and made numerous things for those she loved, she loved reading,bowling, music and animals but her greatest was her love for Horses. A celebration of her life will be held tomorrow, September 8th, 2014 at 4:00 pm at the William G. Neal Funeral Home in Washington, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to defer funeral cost directly to the funeral home.
