Edward Michael Yankovitch

July 16, 1957 — October 6, 2014

Edward Michael Yankovitch, 57, of Washington, died on Monday, October 6, 2014, from a very brief battle with cancer, that he never had a chance to fight. He was born on July 16, 1957, in Washington, the son of the late Henry E. and Patricia Jordan Yankovitch. Ed went to St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church School as a child, and was a 1975 graduate of Trinity High School. He went on to become an LPN. Co-owner of “Details of You” Beauty Salon, with his partner Bill, Mr. Yankovitch, had worked at Brockway Glass Plant #7 on Wylie Ave. and for Community Care Home Health Agency, and was a homemaker for the last 16 years. He enjoyed cooking, cleaning, gardening, and craft-making, but what gave him the most pleasure was talking on the phone with his family, taking care of all his fur babies, and spending time with his partner, Bill. On August 18, 2014, he married his partner–in-life, Bill L. Jackson, with whom he had enjoyed more than 30 wonderful years. Surviving, in addition to his partner, Bill, are a sister, Jodi (Louis) Raymond, of Washington, a brother-in-law, Robert Kazarick, two nieces, Jennifer, and Kayla, and all of his beloved four-legged babies, who will miss him very much. Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Kathryn Kazarick. Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd. 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where a Blessing Service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, October 10, 2014. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Pet Search, P.O. Box 1653, Washington, PA 15301.
