Gilmore Willis Stough, 86, of Washington, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, in the Washington Hospital.
He was born May 16, 1928, in Jeanette, Westmoreland County, a son of George W. and Alice M. Anthony Stough.
An accountant and CPA, Mr. Stough worked for 30 years for Abe L. Stormwind, had a private practice from 1983-1989, and then joined a partnership with a son, from which he retired.
He was a member of A.I.C.P.A. and P.I.C.P.A. Mr. Stough played softball, basketball, bowling, golf and dartball. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and very closely followed his grandchildren’s activities and sports.
He was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Stough served in the Army from December 12, 1950, until his honorable discharge on November 12, 1952. He was stationed in Germany and was awarded the Army Occupation Medal – Germany.
On May 27, 1960, he married Linda Lee Miles, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, William G. (Carol) Stough and Robert E. (Linda) Stough, both of Washington, and Edward L. (Joan) Stough of Avella; six grandchildren, Alexander W., Lindsay T. Sally S., George T., Chandler M. and Jason E. Stough; sister-in-law, Dorothy J. Stough; and a daughter, Margaret Jane Stough of Florida.
Deceased are his first wife, Virginia M. Kunkle Stough, who died August 2, 1954, during childbirth; a brother, Merle Stough; and a sister, Grace Stough.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
