Richard Lawrence White, 82 of Claysville died Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Washington County Health Center.
He was born October 12, 1932 in Claysville, the son of the late Lawrence and Madeline Egan White.
Richard graduated from Claysville High School in 1952 and was an equipment operator for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation from 1956 to 1986.
He was a member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association, Brooke County Sportsmen’s Club, Marshall County Hunting and Fishing Club, Claysville Sportsmen’s Club and a former member of Washington Sportsmen’s Club and Golden Pheasant Sportsmen’s Club.
He won various trophies at many local and state trapshooting events, most memorable being the Pennsylvania Hall of Fame Handicap Championship at Elysburg, PA.
On December 17, 1981 he married Saundra Humphreys, who survives.
Also surviving are a sister, Patricia Ann Dominica of Bridgeville; several nieces and nephews including, Sherri (James) Sulkowski of Canonsburg and Betsy Minor of Muncy, PA; several great nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Robert White.
Friends will be received on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 12 to 2 p.m. the time of service at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, with Rev. Meade Lacock officiating. Burial in Claysville Cemetery will be private.
