Marie N. Alexy

Marie N. Alexy, 90, of Washington, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014, in Washington Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born September 7, 1924, in Arden, a daughter of Charles and Marie Pape Alexy. A graduate of Trinity High School and Bethany College, Ms. Alexy worked as a guidance counselor at Trinity High School for over 45 years. She enjoyed puzzles, crossword puzzles and reading. Ms. Alexy was a long-time member of First Lutheran Church. Surviving are two brothers, Henry Alexy (Susan) of Washington and William Alexy (Theresa) of Wauchula, Florida; four nephews, Denny, Billy, Augie and Eddie Alexy; two nieces, Becky Palfreyman and Debbie Alexy; and many great nieces and great nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Charles and August Alexy, and a sister, Dorothy Ann Alexy. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, November 21st, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Schott officiating.
