Octavia Ileen Nearing

Octavia Ileen Nearing, of Canonsburg, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at Washington Hospital. She was born in Bradford, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Robert Leonard. Octavia was a teller at Express Bet at the Meadows for 40 years. She once attended Glen St Free Methodist Church and Fourth United Presbyterian Church. Octavia had a great personality, and loved everyone, especially her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed HGTV, good food, Elvis Presley Music and playing Santa Claus for her family. Surviving are a son, Lincoln Nearing of Bremerton, WA; two daughters, Melinda Nearing of Washington, and Piper Nearing of Canonsburg; two brothers, Philip Leonard of Perry, GA, and Allen Leonardi of San Francisco, CA; two sisters, Sandra Mathis of Rosewell, GA, and Patricia Wright of Rochester, NY; and two grandchildren, Brandon Davis and Payton Nearing. Friends will be received Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Monday, November 24, 2014 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
