Eleanor Marie Meeks

Eleanor Marie Meeks, 93 of Washington, died Friday, December 5, 2014 at Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born March 6, 1921 in Washington, the daughter of the late Leroy Lacock and Margaret Marie Holmes Richmond Lacock. She was a homemaker and previously worked at Woodward Defense Plant making grenades. She was a member of Friendship Community Church. Eleanor enjoyed reading and watching television. On February 20, 1944, she married Robert Howard Meeks who survives. They were married for 70 years. Also surviving are two daughters, Sharen Meeks of Washington and Cathie (Thomas) Wilson of Nixa, MO; a sister, Ruth Fullerton of Washington. Deceased is a brother, Homer Lacock. Friends will be received Monday, December 8, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Senior Care or to a charity of the donor's choice.
