Charles Ross Main, 82, of Washington, died Friday, December 5, 2014.
He was born August 25, 1932, in Core, West Virginia, a son of Lindsay Main Sr. and Myrtie Statler Main.
A veteran of the Army, Mr. Main served during the Korea War with the rank of Corporal.
He worked as a tankman and selector-packer at the glass house for many years.
Mr. Main was a member of the Eagles and a life member of American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. He enjoyed taking walks.
Surviving are his companion, Beverly “Babe” Lutz; two brothers, George M. (Ruth) Main and Keanith P. Main, both of Washington; three sisters, Alice Zappi of Claysville, Wilda (Harold) Durbin of Washington and Wilma (Delbert) Miller of Mt. Morris; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are three brothers Billy R., Lindsay L. Jr. and James E. Main; and two sisters, Mary Briggs and Martha Kelley.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 9th, with Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
