Jo Ann Mikus, 83, of Canonsburg, passed peacefully following a lengthy illness on December 14, 2014, in Standish’s Assisted Living.
She was born March 10, 1931, in Washington, a daughter of William H. and Helen Henry Reese.
Mrs. Mikus graduated from Washington High School and worked as a selector – packer at Brockway Glass.
She was a senior volunteer at Canonsburg Hospital for 21 years and enjoyed trips to the beach, reading, volunteering, and spending time with family.
Mrs. Mikus was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Meadowlands
On August 5, 1952, she married Joseph L. Mikus, Sr., who died May 25, 2010.
Surviving are a daughter, Candace (Paul) Phillips of Cecil Township; a brother, William (Virginia) Reese of Washington; and two grandchildren, Jordan Mikus and Cory Amos.
Deceased are a daughter Tracy Lynn Mikus; a son, Joseph L. Mikus, Jr., and three sisters, Betty Reese, Marge Dillie and Nancy Marshall.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon on Wednesday, December 17th, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, with Father Carmen D’Amico as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
