Loretta B. Yanavich, 94, of Washington, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015.
She was born May 16, 1920, in Washington, a daughter of Mike Bednarski and Katherine Wozniak Bednarski.
Mrs. Yanavich worked at her son’s salvage business for 30 years. In addition, she was a dairy farmer all of her life and enjoyed hard work, farming and gardening.
Mrs. Yanavich was a member of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church.
On May 6, 1944, she married Leslie Yanavich, who died September 24, 1987.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda (Russell) Hay of Washington; two sisters, Alice McVay and Pearl Legerski, both of Washington; a sister-in-law, Dolores Bednarski of Washington; and three grandchildren, Dawn Hay, Donna Mantia (Ray) and Amanda Higgins.
Deceased are a son, Leslie Yanavich; three brothers, John, Walter, and E. Richard Bednarski; and three sisters, Bertha Ermacoff, Frances Hartline and Marge Temple.
Friends will be received Friday from 3 till 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 31st, with Father Mark Swoger as celebrant. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Those attending the funeral Mass should meet at the church.
