Thomas Edward Powell Jr.

Thomas Edward Powell, Jr., 49, of Pittsburgh, died Saturday, January 31, 2015, in his residence. He was born August 29, 1965, in Reading, a son of Barbara Elaine Lykins of Sinking Springs, and the late Thomas Edward Powell, Sr. Mr. Powell attended the Western School for paralegal training. He was employed as a paralegal. Mr. Powell was an avid fisherman and hunter. He had an appreciation for guns and was a member of the California Hill Gun Club. He loved his grandchildren; and was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. Surviving are a son, Nicholas Powell, of Washington; a daughter, Angela Powell, of Bentleyville, a brother, Terry Powell, of Reading; a sister, Rusann Wood, four grandchildren, Aiden Harris, Kira Powell, Alexis Harris and Alijah Powell; his fiancée, Amy Siwik; and the mother of his children, Lisa Powell. Deceased are a son, Jacob Powell, and a brother, Greg Powell. Friends will be received 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at noon, Friday, February 6, 2015, with Rev. Dr. Gary Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Claysville. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton, Post 175, American Legion.
