Harvey Kent Neel, 82 of Washington died, Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Washington Hospital.
He was born January 26, 1933 in Monongahela, the son of the late Harvey Fell Neel and Marie Carroll Neel.
Harvey was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War, and attended Penn State for one year.
He was the owner of Neel Transportation Co., Inc and Thistlecrest Farms Auction.
Harvey was a member of the Davidson United Methodist Church in Glyde, American Legion Post #175, Sunset Lodge #623, F & A.M where he was Past Master, Syria Shriners, Scottish Rite Valley of Pittsburgh, Royal Order of Scotland, Washington Royal Arch Chapter #150 where he was Past High Priest, Gourgas Lodge of Perfection, Jacques DeMolay Commandery #3- IKT-PC, Knights Templar, Knight of York Cross of Honor, Golden Triangle York Rite #32, Sewickley High Twelve Club- 32nd Degree.
He enjoyed golfing, antiques, auctions, hunting and fishing and was a Winter Texan for several years.
On February 16, 1957 he married Shirley Pallai who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Rev. Bradley (Robin) K. Neel of Beaver Falls, Jeffrey Neel of Washington; a daughter, Leigh Ann Neel of Louisville, KY; a sister Jane Neel Smith of Kingsport, TN; four grandchildren, Meredith (Joey) Jurinko, Jordan, Zachary and Dustin Neel.
Friends will be received Friday, February 14, 2015 from 2 to 9 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Patty Comini-Miller and Rev. Bradley Kent Neel officiating. Burial will follow at Monongahela Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton, Post #175.
Masonic services will held Friday, February 13, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.
