Samuel L. Keener, 56, of New Freeport, died February 12, 2015, in UPMC – Montefiore, Pittsburgh.
He was born August 9, 1958, in Washington, a son of the late Kenneth Keener and Shirley Stansberry Keener.
Mr. Keener attended Trinity High School and worked at Danny West Painting for 25 years.
He was a member of the former VFW Post 8319 and enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding quads and spending time with his family.
On April 29, 1994, he married Marsha Glendenning, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Timothy of Washington, Christopher of Washington and Samuel (Ashley) of Waynesburg; six brothers, Kenny Keener, Jr. of Prosperity, Ronnie (Sharon) Keener and Dave (Bethann) Miller, both of Washington, Kevin (Dee) Keener and Jamie (Tina) Keener, both of Ohio, and Jim Manning of Washington; two sisters, Kimberly (Bill) Keener of Washington and Becky (Robert) Wheeler of Avella; six grandchildren, Zachary, Joshua, Shirley Ann, Samantha, Samuel III, and Rachael; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Alva; and his stepmother, Violet Keener, who died October 12, 2014.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, February 16th. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, East Finley Township. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
