Cecil Jones, 78, of Washington, died Sunday, March 8, 2015, in his home.
He was born June 5, 1936, in Monongah, Marion County, West Virginia, a son of the late Jordan Jones II and Willabell Watson Jones.
Mr. Jones was a veteran of the Air Force and worked as a crane man at Union Electric Steel in Carnegie for 34 years.
A Cleveland Browns fan, he was a member of a bowling team and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cars, especially Cadillacs, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Jones was a member of the Highland-Erie Committee and the Bachelors Benedict Association.
On February 11, 1959, he married Janice Dilliard, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Toi Jones (Butchey) and Michelle “Shelly” Jones (Kenny), both of Washington; two brothers, Ricky Watson (Sandra) and Tony Watson, both of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Wendy McCants and Jackie Parson, both of Akron, Ohio; and grandchildren, Cecil Jones, III, who was raised by Janice and Cecil, Jasmine Robinson, Skye Jones, Storme Robinson, Justice Ottey-Jones and Brendan Davis; great-grandchildren, King Law, Royce Kramer and Sariya Jones; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Morris Richardson.
Deceased are a son, Cecil Jones, Jr.; a brother, Jordan Jones III; a sister, Alice Carter; his stepfather, James Watson; and his mother-in-law, Waunita Johns.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, March 13th, with Brother Tim Crow of the Kingdom Hall officiating.
