Oreta "Rita" Greer Thomas

Oreta Mae “Rita” Greer Thomas, 80, of Washington, died Saturday, July 4, 2015, in Transitions Health Care, following a brief illness. She was born April 20, 1935, in Washington, a daughter of the late Wilson Greer and Goldie Spease Greer. A homemaker, Mrs. Thomas was an avid bingo player and enjoyed crocheting and spending time with family and friends. She loved her cat, Winston. Deceased are three brothers, Harry Warren Greer, George Greer and William Greer; and a sister, Elizabeth “Libby” Stopperich. Surviving are two nieces, Darlene Mahan (Robert) and Christine Garber (Gary); great niece, Amy Ross (Greg); great nephew, Robert Mahan, Jr. (Brenda); and great-great nephew, Jesse Ross; great-great niece, Jena Ross. Friends will be received from Noon till 2 p.m., the time of service, Tuesday, July 7th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
