Donald Roy Martin, Sr.

Donald Roy Martin, Sr., 81, of Wellsburg, West Virginia, died Saturday, July 4, 2015, in Weirton Medical Center. He was born June 18, 1934, in Washington, a son of the late Daniel F. and Orpha Martin. Mr. Martin was a veteran of the Marine Corps and worked as a coal miner for Bethlehem Mines. On April 21, 1970, he married Diane Oblack Martin, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Arthur Martin (Susan) of Derry; six daughters, Shirley Denny (Donald) of Houston, Penny Wagner (Mickey) of Canonsburg, Ruth Montecalvo (Anthony), Sherri Ingham (Daniel), Julia Ray and Jennifer Taylor (Chad), all of Washington; one brother, Floyd Martin (Mary Lou) of the state of California; a sister, Twila Berry (Jack) of Zanesville, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sons, Donald Martin, Jr., and David L. Martin; one daughter, Linda Sue Martin; a grandson, Brian Martin; a great-grandson, Santana; two brothers, Darrell Martin and French Martin; and two sisters, Mary Haught and Betty Piatt. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing or service.
