Esther Louise Nelson, 81, of Washington, died on Thursday, August 20, 2015, in the Washington Hospital.
She was born on September 29, 1933, in Claysville, a daughter of the late Henry and Georgia Fields Crowe.
A graduate of Claysville High School, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Nelson was a member of the First Christian Church in West Alexander.
She enjoyed reading, embroidery, Puzzles, and liked listening to the radio.
On September 24, 1979, she married Robert Nelson, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Linda (Mark) Miller, of Washington, and Brenda Sprowls, of Claysville; four brothers, Tom Crowe, of Bakersfield, CA, Richard Crowe, of Oceanside, CA, Allan Crowe, of Claysville, and Robert Crowe, of West Alexander; six sisters, Millie Corbly, of Claysville, Gladys Morris, of Washington, Ruth Shiver, of Claysville, Alice Wood, of Washington, Martha Rizor, of West Alexander, and Ruby Marquez, of Norfolk, VA; and nine grandchildren.
Deceased are three children, Stanley, Roger, and an unnamed daughter; two brothers, Melvin and Charles Crowe; and two sisters, Wilma Plants, and Virginia White.
Friends will be received on Monday, August 24, 2015, in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, from 10:00 a.m., until 2:00 p.m., the time of services, with Pastor Bruce Graff officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
