Pearl J. Knestrick

Pearl Joann Wood Knestrick, 96, of Washington, died Saturday, September 26, 2015 in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born May 31, 1919, in Washington, a daughter of Harry Wood and Mary Hazel Evans Wood. Mrs. Knestrick worked at Duncan Miller Glass and Brockway Glass. She loved playing bingo and loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On January 20, 1940, she married William H. Knestrick, Jr., who died July 22, 1991. Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Carpenter and Pamela Sue Knestrick, both of Washington; a sister, Mary Jane McDermott of Cleveland, Ohio; two grandchildren, Lori Ross (Barry) and Stephen W. Holick, Sr., of Washington; and five great grandchildren, Shaelyn Ross, Stephen W. Holik, Jr., Tori Smith, Logan Ryan and Brandon Buckles. Deceased are three brothers, Harry, Seral and Robert Wood; and two sisters, Goldie Taylor and Delores Harmon. Friends will be received on Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 29th. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
