On Tuesday, November 3, 2015, will be recorded as the date that Betty Foflygen began her voyage from Earth to Heaven. At approximately 8:40 p.m. surrounded by loved ones, she gently gave her husband Bill a gentle hand squeeze, signifying “I’ll see you later at home” as she departed through the Valley of the Shadow of Death.
She was born May 19, 1936 in Washington the daughter of the late Walter D. Neilson and Nellie Amon Neilson.
Betty graduated from Washington High School in 1954 and worked at Hazel-Atlas #2 as a packer and selector. She also was self-employed as health home aide.
She was a member of Lone Pine Christian Church
On July 17, 1965 she married William K. Foflygen Sr. who survives. This past July they celebrated 50 years of marriage. Both have always been actively involved as Christians in their many tasks of serving the Lord, starting years before they even met.
Also surviving are a son, William K. (Traci) Foflygen Jr. of Brave, PA; a daughter, Peggy L. Miller of CA; a brother, Charles F. Williams Jr. of Hatboro; a sister, Sandra L. Kopko of Washington; two grandchildren, Joy Elizabeth Grabits of Ohio and Michael “Craig” Foflygen of Brave.
Deceased are a stepfather, Charles F. Williams Sr.; two brothers John and Walter Neilson; two sisters, Margaret Goodwin and Norma Conrad.
Friends will be received Friday, November 6, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and 12 to 1 p.m. the time of service on Saturday, November 7, 2015, with Pastor John Owen officiating at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
