Arthur Clifford Norris, Jr.

Arthur Clifford Norris, Jr., 84, of Washington, died Monday, January 4, 2016, in his home. He was born October 17, 1931, in Washington, a son of the late Arthur Norris, Sr., and Lillian Salada Norris. Mr. Norris graduated from Washington High School and served in the United States Army. He worked as a laborer for several local manufacturing plants. A true “Mr. Fixit,” Mr. Norris enjoyed woodworking, restoring old cars, making clocks and fishing. On February 23, 1957, he married Patricia Hagedorn, who died March 13, 2008. Surviving are a son, Arthur Norris, III, of Washington; two daughters, Linda (Bill) Hickman of Georgia and Barbara (Rich) Reitter of Weirton, West Virginia; a sister, Lillian Ranko of Washington; seven grandchildren, Art, Tina, James, April, Kara, David and Jason; and 11 great-grandchildren. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, January 9th from 2 to 4 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, followed by a memorial service at 4 p.m. Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
