Jerry Lee Nelson, Jr

Jerry Lee Nelson, Jr., 55, of Sarasota, Florida, died Monday, February 22, 2016, in his home. He was born May 26, 1960, in Washington, a son of the late Jerry Lee Nelson, Sr. and Virginia Tarr Nelson. Nr. Nelson graduated from Trinity High School and worked for 30 years as a meatcutter for Publix in Sarasota, Florida. He was an avid deep-sea diver and enjoyed many cruises with his late wife, Kimberly. Mr. Nelson was Christian by faith. His wife of over 30 years, Kimberly Doak Nelson, is deceased. Surviving are a brother, Randy (Donna) Nelson of Greensville, South Carolina, and a stepbrother, Rick (Ava) Prutzman of Washington. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 1 till 3 p.m. and 6 till 7:30 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be held in the funeral home from 1 till 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 2nd, followed by a graveside service in Washington Cemetery.
