George Howard Hopkins, 58, of Washington died unexpectedly on Friday, February 26, 2016, at home.
He was born October 13, 1957, in Washington, a son of the late George H. Hopkins, Sr. and Catherine Greer Hopkins.
Mr. Hopkins worked as a cashier at the 7-11 Gas Station, in Washington.
He was Southern Baptist by faith.
An avid NASCAR Racing fan, he followed both Dale Earnhardt, Sr., and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
George was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving, are two brothers, Douglas (Carol) Hopkins, of Ireland, and Joseph Hopkins, of Washington; two sisters, Vickie Romick, and Valerie (Ronald) Slaven, both of Washington; seven nephews, eight nieces, three great nephews, eight great nieces, and one great-great nephew.
Deceased is a brother, Michael Hopkins.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Fairfax Memorial Park, 9900 Braddock Rd., Fairfax, VA 22032, with Pastor Ray Brock officiating.
Military Honors will be accorded graveside.
