Joshua Douglas Swartz

Joshua Douglas Swartz, 22 of Cross Creek passed away into the loving arms of his Savior on July 8, 2016. He was the beloved son of Douglas Howard Swartz and Terri Lee Swartz and was born July 14, 1993. He graduated from Lincoln Park School of the Arts and planned to attend college this fall and study to enter into the ministry. Josh was an inspiration to those who knew him and his music and faith and deeply touched many lives. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was a loving grandson, son, brother, uncle and nephew. He most recently attended Avery United Methodist Church. Surviving in addition to her parents are two sisters and their families, Sarah (Jordan) Wheeler of Mt. Morris, Rebecca, (Brett) Maddox McKelvey; nieces and nephews Elias and Judah Wheeler, Maddox and Greyson McKelvey; maternal grandparents, Richard and Dorothy Ross of Canonsburg and paternal grandmother, E. J. Swartz of Danberry, OH. Deceased are grandparents, James Howard Swartz and Elizabeth Pauline Swartz. A Memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, July 14, 1016 at 1:30 p.m. at Avery United Methodist Church, 1100 Gabby Ave, Washington.
