Mark Shawn Phillips, Sr.

Mark Shawn Phillips, Sr., 55, of Washington, died unexpectedly on Monday, July 25, 2016, in his home. He was born on August 15, 1960, in Washington, a son of Mary Louise Beatty Hanlon, of Claysville, and the late Daniel Phillips, Sr. His stepfather, Charles E. Hanlon, is also deceased. Mr. Phillips worked as a roofer for various local roofing companies. He was a member of Wesleyan Methodist Church. Mark loved playing with his grandchildren, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and camping. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a son, Mark Phillips, Jr., of Claysville; a daughter, Katie Phillips, of Washington; two brothers, Daniel and Louis Phillips, both of Washington; three half brothers, Timothy, Jack and Kent; a sister, Tonya (Larry) Arbogast, of Washington; two half-sisters, Sandy and Ginger; and two grandchildren, Mara and Emelyn Phillips, both of Claysville. Friends will be received on Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 29, 2016. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
