Tressa Underwood Hartley

Tressa Underwood Hartley, 97, of Washington, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016, in Washington County Health Center. She was born September 7, 1918, in Cross Creek, a daughter of Joseph and Rose Mitchell Underwood. Mrs. Hartley was a homemaker who dearly loved her family and enjoyed playing bingo. She loved flowers and was a member of the African Violet Association. Mrs. Hartley was Protestant by faith. Her husband, Virgil Earl Hartley, died September 6, 1990. Surviving are a son, Dorsey Dale (Terri) Hartley of Graysville; three daughters, Linda (Ed) Allen of Broomfield, Colorado, Janice (Bill) Hulpa of Washington, Karen (William Lynn) Tompkins of Fernandina Beach, Florida; a sister, Josephine Fragapane of Bridgeville; 11 grandchildren, Ed, Allen, Darice, Jodi, Jennifer, Marla, Kelly, Dallas, Lovinda, Erin and Justin; and 17 great-grandchildren. Deceased is a daughter, Maureen Weaver. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Private services and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
