Scott David Taneyhill

Scott David Taneyhill, 56, of Washington, died Monday, September 12, 2016. He was born September 17, 1959, in Johnstown, a son of George Edward (Evelyn) Taneyhill of Altoona and the late Marion Joan Daughterty Taneyhill. Mr. Taneyhill graduated from The Ohio State University. He worked for McRay Landscape and Stone Work in McMurray for several years. Mr. Taneyhill loved spending time with his family and enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, gardening, and rollerblading. On February 25, 1989, he married Amy Simpson, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Alyssa Leigh Shroyer (Dalton) of Fairmont, West Virginia, and Sarah Joan Taneyhill (fiancé Bill Seibert) of Washington; a brother, Dale Taneyhill; a stepsister, Cathy Cody (Bill); and three grandchildren, Jayde Nicole Peacock, Dalton Ray Shroyer, Jr., and Marion Loretta Shroyer. Deceased is a grandson, Donald Aurthor Shroyer. Friends will be received on Saturday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Robert Grewe officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to National Rifle Association.
