Katherine Mruk, 91, of Meadowlands, died Sunday, November 20, 2016, in Canonsburg Hospital.
She was born April 26, 1925, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Peter and Mary Sasko Reboich.
Mrs. Mruk worked at the Duncan Miller Defense Plant for 10 years and as a cook in the dietary department of Washington County Health Center for 17 years.
She enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, watching talks shows on television, cooking, and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Mruk also enjoyed attending Catholic Mass at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, where she was a member.
On February 19, 1949, she married John Stephen Mruk, Jr., who died September 26, 1994.
Surviving are a son, John T. Mruk of Washington; a daughter, Karen Ann Mruk of Martinsburg, West Virginia; a sister, Sue (Henry) Alexy of Washington; two grandchildren, John T. “J.T.” (Amy) Mruk and Melissa Kay Mruk, both of Meadowlands; and five great-grandchildren, Haley Ann Mruk, Leanna Kay Garey, Austin Tyler Mruk, Aiden Edward Charters and Ethan Thomas Charters.
Deceased is a sister, Ann Przystup.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 26th, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, with Father Carmen D’Amico as celebrant. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Washington.
