Helen Maria Hathaway

Helen Marie Hathaway, 102 of formerly of Claysville, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Kades Nursing Home. She was born August 4, 1914 in Buffalo Township, the daughter of the late Mack Carson and Ella Jane Jones Carson. Helen was a 1934 graduate of Taylorstown High School and a homemaker. She was the oldest living member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Buffalo Grange. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and crocheting, fishing. On August 15, 1934, she married Earl LeRoy Hathaway, who died November 28, 1988. Surviving are a sister, Myrtle Sprowls in Washington; a grandson, Dan (Mary) Hathaway of Claysville; great grandson, Ben (Lisa) Hathaway of Claysville; great great grandchildren, Savannah, Gavin and Brynn Hathaway; a daughter in law, Ruby Hathaway of Claysville. Deceased are a son, Gene Hathaway; three sisters, Hazel Westfall, Blanche Minnies and Pearl Stollar; a great great grandchild, Noah. Friends will be received, Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Claysville Cemetery.
