Barbara Ann Cress Clemens, 68, formerly of Washington died unexpectedly, Monday, April 3, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, OH, with her daughter by her side.
She was born February 16, 1949 in Washington, the daughter of Goldie I. Naylor Cress of Claysville and the late Edward P. Cress.
Barbara graduated from McGuffey High School and attended Waynesburg College for 2 years and Duff Business School for their paralegal program. She worked throughout the Washington Area as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She attended Friendship Community Church and enjoyed gardening, making jewelry and writing. She published and inspired a movie. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 639
.
Surviving in addition to her mother are a daughter, Misty Cress-Harvey of Burlington, KY; two sisters, Penny Cress (James Pryor) Seaman of Washington and Eva Renae Cress of Claysville; a granddaughter, Madison Harvey of Burlington, KY; her companion of 6 years, Mike Williams; former son in law, David Harvey; a niece Amanda Avelar; two nephews, Justin (Tanya) Seaman and Travis Cress; great nephews, Austin and Zachary.
Deceased are a son, Jason Clemens and first husband Lawrence Clemens.
Friends will be received Friday, April 7, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Claysville Cemetery.
