Jean Romaine Lindley, 78, of Washington, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010, in the Washington Hospital, following a two-year illness.
She was born September 15, 1931, in Washington, a daughter of Beauregard and Lillian Toland Pierson.
Mrs. Lindley was a homemaker and great mother.
She was a member of Apostolic Faith Assembly in Wellsburg, West Virginia. She enjoyed singing in church and was nicknamed “Song Bird.”
When younger, she enjoyed league bowling.
In 1967, she married Eugene Lindley, who died in October 1974.
Surviving are two sons, Rickey Wright of Prosperity and Michael Wright of Washington; two daughter, Darla Lee Rogers and Judy Wright, both of Washington; a brother, Herman Pierson of Claysville; a sister, Betty Bird of Washington; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, Gardy, Fred, James and Clifford Pierson; and five sisters, Goldie Durbin, Rosa Kenimond, Edith Smith, Bertie Moritz and Mary Bilby.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 20th with Pastor Gloria Garrison officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of the funeral home.
