Paul J. Fien, 80, of Washington, died Friday, September 17, 2010, in Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington.
He was born February 1, 1930, in Marianna, a son of Michael and Mary Serenta Fien.
A Korean War Veteran, Mr. Fien served in the Marines Corps from December 20, 1951, until his honorable discharge on December 1, 1953, with a rank of corporal. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Ribbon with two stars and United Nations Ribbon. He was very proud of his military service.
Mr. Fien was a salesman for Dixie-Cap Rubber Company. He enjoyed golfing, being with his grandchildren and cooking, which he was very good at.
Mr. Fien was Christian by faith.
On May 14, 1956, he married Loretta Bucenell, who died February 28, 1995.
Surviving are two daughters, Rhonda (Richard) Shaw of Weirton, West Virginia and Sandra Coram of Wheeling; a brother, Dominick Fien of Washington; a sister, Jean Medved of Marianna; four grandchildren, Travis Danley and Alex Biwer both of Washington and Michael Coram and Ashley Coram, both of Wheeling; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Robert Fien, and a sister, Mary Lou Verna.
Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 20th, with Pastor Bob Mazeroski officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
